I sent a donation and I live in Minnesota! I’m encouraging everyone who responds to his motivation to do the same. Even 10 bucks! Donations from coast to coast will create a set of waves no surfer can ignore. One nyc mayor said “subways will be free!” Pratt said “LA buses will be free. Of feces, needles, vomit…”. Ok. I’ll buy that.
I live in Michigan and made a small contribution. I hope everyone who reads this essay makes a contribution, even a token one, to show our support for a rational thinking man!
Having lived in Orange County in the ‘80s and beyond, Pratt’s energy reminds me of the spirit of that time — Randy Newman’s “I love LA” and the ‘84 Olympics. We also had Reagan in office. There were problems, but there was optimism that we’d solve them. It’s very sad to see what things are like now.
There was also optimism that Arnold The Governator could make changes, but the public employees unions quickly put a stop to that. I hope Spencer can really get rid of la bassura.
Spencer is a lot like Trump. I hope he wins. Hollywood is woke, but does that extend beyond the actors, directors and producers? There are a lot of workers like grips, continuity, wardrobe, make up etc. Maybe they will vote to reclaim their city.
Boy do they ever! In years where we're visited by multiple pairs, we have to have multiple feeders to assure some of them get some nourishment. I've actually heard their little bodies collide in mid-air as they try to control the airspace. The males chase the males, the females chase the females, and they chase each other (presumably after the females have kicked the males out of the nest). They may be little, but they have attitude! We're fortunate to be able to contrast that with the behavior of Canada geese who have visited our property. The males watch over their families continuously, and will defend them against all comers. We also have wood ducks, who seem to have a system of community childcare. It's not unusual to see a flock of adults and chicks cruising peacefully around the creek next to our house. It's better than TV!
That polymarket chart at the end, with Bass surging, suggests that either the Dems are doing the usual election thing, getting out the deceased Angeleno and the rapey headchopping demographic votes, or that polymarket’s vaunted predictive abilities are vastly overstated.
OMG, when the mother shows her son where his bedroom used to be, and she asks him if he'll be OK, and he says, "Noooo." What parent's heart, or ANY person's heart, is not breaking for that sweet boy?
A moving and well-written article about Los Angeles Mayor candidate Spencer Pratt, Yuri! His campaign is a sensation that is taking this country by storm! Los Angeles was the place to be in the 1980s and 1990s. One of this country’s great metropolises. All the big Hollywood stars and musical artists lived there. The Lakers dominated the NBA for three decades. The city was bustling with life. Now it’s a shell of what it once was. Homeless people in tents and trash are everywhere. Mentally ill people roam the streets neglected and forgotten. Housing is totally unaffordable for working class people. Wealth inequality is off the charts. Taxes are through the roof. Needless red tape and regulations make it impossible to do anything in the City of Angels. Businesses have to move out because they are being robbed of their income. The Democratic machine in the city is corrupt and doesn’t care about regular people. Karen Bass couldn’t care less about the people of Los Angeles. She was on a trip to Ghana while the LA wildfire in the Palisades. When she came back she provided no leadership whatsoever. She also prevented people from coming back and rebuilding their homes.
But she had no problem opening up the area to developers and contractors working on behalf of big business. Los Angeles is a s***hole let’s just be honest. Eric Garcetti and Karen Bass ran the city into the ground. Their policies were an utter disaster. Spencer Pratt is the man to clean it up and restore Los Angeles to the great city it once was because he was personally affected by the fire as his home and hummingbird sanctuary were completely destroyed. Karen Bass didn’t lift a finger to help him, his neighbors or his family. That is why he took matters into his own hands and ran for office himself. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone in LA to cast their vote for Mr. Pratt in the Los Angeles Mayoral Election! Spencer Pratt is the man for the moment! He cares more about issues than party or ideology, which is exactly the kind of politician we need nowadays.
My hope is next Sheriff Chad Bianco gets elected Governor of California! The state is in really bad shape. Daniel Lurie getting elected in San Francisco and Nathan Hochman being elected DA in Los Angeles was a good start, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Much more needed to be done to get the state back on the right track. Spencer Pratt being elected in LA and Chad Bianco being elected to the Governor’s Mansion would be the next step to restoring the Golden State to its former glory. Did you California is the state with the highest number of registered Republicans in the entire nation? That’s a fact! In the San Francisco Bay Area, the Democratic Party and the voters are gradually moving to the center-left. This is personified by the elections of Daniel Lurie in San Francisco and San Jose’s Matt Mahan. Eric Swalwell is gone. Nancy Pelosi is retiring. Maxine Waters is 87 and doesn’t have much more time left in office. Gavin Newsom is term-limited and will soon be out of office. California is gradually changing for the better!
Never forget you are fighting the cloward and Piven model. This is all part of what Obama brought to the country. Destroy everything so that everyone is in equal misery except for the very elite at the very top. Then you can control the masses with bribes and welfare and equal sharing of garbage. That's what this is about. And if we don't stop it remember the old adage, as California goes so goes the country.
Because of your post linking to it, I read Pratt's April 5th Substack about Easter. It was profound. While I was going to vote for him as we literally have no choice, Bass may be incompetent, but I fear Nithya is not - and that is very, very scary. But I didn't expect him to someone who wrote in such a poetic voice about the significance of the Christian origin story. (As Rene Girard said, you don't have to believe the narrative but you can't ignore its implications.) Trying to find his post, I searched Substack, and there is an attorney who is pretty vicious in his attacks on Pratt. Apparently, Pratt is a bigot, among other nasty things. The party that used to identify with the little guy is upset that ads feature them as the elite and the rest of us as serfs. While some may dislike the ads as going too far, the politicians, as politicians, are fair game. Cartoons from the 1800s evidence that this is nothing new. The attorney also featured a post on an AI ad with Pratt and Erika Kirk smooching it up. An AI ad featuring a widow whose husband was assassinated is just gruesome. He posed the question of whether that was too far and answered it himself, saying it seemed not to go far enough. The party has just become a vile entity. That said, I have gratitude that my relatives believe the party made their lives better. But that was a very, very long time ago.
Excellent post. I think it's hilarious that Comrade Bass is now running attack ads against Pratt, claiming he once said nice things about Alex Jones, as if any Angelenos know who Alex Jones is. They certainly know Comrade Bass.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man indeed. Trump, Bukele, Milei, Pratt…
Start me with ten who are stout-hearted men and I’ll soon show you 10,000 more.
Beautifully said.

I live in MN and was thinking of donating. You've convinced me.
Yeah! I'm just channeling Spencer...
I just completed my donation.
Actually, Mamdani said busses will be free, not subways. Has he made good on that promise yet?
Beats me. I can’t keep up…

Hummingbirds are beautiful and entertaining but they are highly aggressive. There is a lesson there.
We have hummingbirds in our yard. Never been attacked.
They don't attack people, just each other. Or at least do extensive dominance displays.

Notice, Bass surged almost exactly as much as Raman fell. Same group of (idiot) voters switching which corrupt grifter they favor.
It did make me wonder what happened May 8th to destroy Raman. Haven't been following LA.
OMG, when the mother shows her son where his bedroom used to be, and she asks him if he'll be OK, and he says, "Noooo." What parent's heart, or ANY person's heart, is not breaking for that sweet boy?
Not a mom and it got to me.
Yuri, this might be your greatest piece ever.

What a cancer Obama is.
I hope he wins but i'll believe it when I see it in that city.
A white Christian married man for LA mayor?

I so hope he and Steve Hilton or Bianco wins... it will send an earthquake message to the Looney Leftist... we need some good fighters to push back.
Thanks for posting this it is really good.

How hard is Nithya Raman fuming right now that NOBODY is talking about her
