An Encore for American Heroes from The State of the Union
Trump recognized America's best citizens to remind us what we are fighting for - let's highlight their full stories
The real stars of the State of the Union were the Americans highlighted in the president’s gallery. Whoever curated the invitations deserves a medal. Each honoree represented the best of us and the deadly consequences of the left. They reminded us of the sacrifices and heroism that make America great. Today, I will go into detail with their full stories so that MSM can’t memory hole them.
Eric Slover
The Night Stalkers special forces helicopter pilot was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during Operation Absolute Resolve in Venezuela.
Chief Warrant Officer Five Eric A. Slover distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity, above and beyond the call of duty, on January 3, 2026, during a mission in Venezuela, in support of Operation Absolute Resolve. Slover piloted his MH-47 as the lead aircraft of the operation, tasked with executing a highly complex infiltration through hostile Integrated Air Defense Systems to safely deliver military forces.
During ingress, Chief Warrant Officer Five Slover skillfully led the helicopter force through a dense jungle valley in a mountainous region, navigating marginal weather conditions, numerous topographical hazards, and near insurmountable surface to air threats. Upon touching down at the designated landing zone, Chief Warrant Officer Five Slover’s aircraft was immediately engaged by multiple machine gun positions at close range.
The hostile fire resulted in 15 armor-piercing rounds entering his cockpit, with four rounds striking his leg. Despite the intense and effective enemy fire, and at great personal risk, Chief Warrant Officer Five Slover maintained his situational awareness and aircraft’s position in the line of fire to ensure the safe infiltration of the military forces. After the force disembarked, and despite suffering significant life-threatening injuries, Chief Warrant Officer Five Slover identified hostile heavy machine gun positions that were engaging his aircraft and targeting the ground forces. He maneuvered his aircraft to enable his door gunner to deliver effective fire, successfully neutralizing the threats.
Chief Warrant Officer Five Slover’s heroic actions undoubtedly saved countless American lives and ensured the complete and overwhelming success of the mission. His gallantry under fire and extraordinary valor are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
Scott Ruskan
The Coast Guard rescue swimmer received the Legion of Merit for helping save 165 people during the July 2025 flash floods in Texas.
Petty Officer Ruskan is cited for extraordinary heroism while participating in aerial flight as the Rescue Swimmer aboard Coast Guard MH-65E helicopter 6553. On 04 July 2025, Camp Mystic in Kerrville, Texas was devastated by a catastrophic flash flood as the Guadalupe River rose an astonishing 26 feet in just 45 minutes, sweeping away cabins and stranding over 200 campers. Facing these dire circumstances, extreme precipitation, near-zero visibility, and the daunting challenge of rising terrain, he launched on the first Coast Guard aircraft, making three perilous attempts to reach the survivors.
Facing rising floodwaters and unstable terrain, Petty Officer Ruskan volunteered to remain on the ground at a critical moment in the rescue operation, putting his own safety at great risk to save the lives of others. As the sole first responder at the chaotic Camp Mystic evacuation zone, Petty Officer Ruskan overcame crippled communications and dangerous conditions to triage survivors and expertly coordinated the evacuation of 169 people. Working with a dozen rotary-wing aircraft from the Department of Defense, federal, and state partners across two landing zones, he demonstrated extraordinary leadership and composure despite harrowing circumstances.
Guiding groups of children and counselors through treacherous, debris-strewn floodplains, he instilled calm amidst the chaos and ensured their safe passage to awaiting aircraft. Petty Officer Ruskan’s actions, skill, and heroism were instrumental in the rescue of 169 people. His courage, judgment, and devotion to duty in the face of hazardous conditions are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard.
Royce Williams
The centurion fighter pilot won a dogfight against Soviet jets during the Korean War in 1952. His mission was kept classified for decades until this year, when he was finally given the Medal of Honor. With a beaming smile, he looked thrilled to be sitting next to Melania and even the Dems stood up for him.
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty on 18 November 1952 while leading a division of three jet fighters attached to Fighter Squadron VF-781 and embarked on the USS Orisknay. While flying a combat patrol mission over the northeastern coastal waters of enemy-held North Korea, Lieutenant Williams demonstrated extraordinary heroism by intercepting a superior force of attacking enemy MiG-15 fighters in order to protect the ships of Task Force 77.
After thwarting the enemy’s initial attack, he maneuvered his aircraft to make two firing passes on one MiG, which then spiraled into the sea. He inflicted heavy damage to a second MiG-15, which started smoking badly and retired from the fight. When his own aircraft was severely damaged by a direct hit from one of the remaining enemy MiG-15s, Lieutenant Williams evaded further enemy attack while continuing to direct the dogfight. He eventually found cover in a cloud bank, broke off the engagement, and miraculously landed his nearly uncontrollable aircraft on the USS ORISKANY.
His exceptional airmanship, coupled with his complete disregard for his own personal safety, resulted in the destruction of three enemy MiG-15s and severe damage to a fourth, and undoubtedly saved the lives of hundreds of Task Force 77 sailors. By his undaunted courage, bold initiative, and total devotion to duty, Lieutenant Williams reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
Buddy Taggart
The World War II veteran earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the Pacific theater. He fought in the Battle of Manila and liberated the largest internment camp in the Philippines. Buddy will turn 100 on July 4, 2026.
Andrew Wolfe and Sarah Beckstrom
The National Guardsmen were awarded Purple Hearts, the latter posthumously. They were ambushed by an Afghan national while on patrol near The White House in November 2025. Andrew was shot in the head and given little chance to survive, but his mother never lost faith that he would recover.
Sage Blair
Sage was abducted by the groomer commissars of our education system. When she was 14, Virginia school officials sought to socially transition her to a boy while hiding it from her parents. After she was found in Maryland in an abusive all-boys home, a leftist judge refused to return her to her parents because they did not “affirm” that she was a boy. This story has a happy ending. She will attend Liberty University in the fall with a full scholarship. Trans Congressman Sarah/Tim McBride (she/her) refused to stand.
Dalilah Coleman
Dalilah was severely injured by an illegal alien truck driver. He entered under Biden’s open borders and was issued a CDL by Newsom’s California. Her father helped her recuperate from a brain injury that threatened to paralyze her in a vegetative state, but now she is relearning to walk in first grade.
Anna Zarutska
Iryna Zarutska’s mother lost her daughter in Charlotte after fleeing from Ukraine. She was brutally stabbed to death by a criminal that Democrats released repeatedly. Eoghan McCabe commissioned many murals for her across America.
Erika Kirk
Charlie and Iryna will be forever intertwined because his last tweet was about her. They both lost their lives in the same month.

How To Assimilate into America
Comrades: Assimilation is the vital ingredient of successful immigration. America is a country, not an economic zone. Unity is our strength, not diversity. As our nation turns 250, assimilation is the most important issue. We must define what an American is now in order to prosper for another 250 years.

The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it. Thucydides
This is what leadership looks like. Trump didn’t just give a speech — he put America’s conscience in the gallery. A helicopter pilot who took rounds to the leg and kept flying. A rescue swimmer who saved 169 lives in biblical floodwaters. A 100-year-old warrior who liberated prisoners in Manila. A wounded Guardsman who beat death because his mother refused to surrender hope. These aren’t abstractions. They are the human stakes of border policy, military strength, parental rights, and national identity. The Left hates these stories because they expose the consequences of their ideology. But America remembers. And America is waking up.
