For those of you who aren’t familiar with military rank, a Lieutenant Colonel is not anyone that would be conversing with presidents or advising on policy decisions. At that rank they’d be an aide to a general who was advising on policy decision. I guess even though the military brass have almost entirely sold out, they had to drag the lower ranks to find a true rat like LTC V. Believe me he is entirely despised by his peers.

He’s despised by the 6 veterans in my family too.

When they want to make a point, the dredge up the willing stooges. Much like Ollie North for Iran-Contra who on the stand said, "I want you to know lying doesn't come easy to me," and proceeded with his "testimony".

Yeah and give the ones who speak truth to power dishonorable discharges and smear them.

Another mispelled word...they dredge up...

For some reason I can't edit my comments on my phone, so corrections via comments have to make do. Of course, I could simply read and correct before I post...

They must all be compromised somehow. With this insane surveillance state who knows what the deep state knows about you. I wouldn’t want all of my browser history publicly accessible. And I’m (fairly) normal. I can’t understand how else they could get this many military men to compromise their oath. Even the ones (like Gen Miley) who were good men and leaders, they still seem to get them switched. Wouldn’t be a new concept. J Edgar Hoover mastered the art of compromising politicians way back.

You can rest assured that they were compromised somewhere along the way. They all have their fears, they all have their price, and none of them have a conscience.

I would like to think a few of them would hold the moral line. Doesn’t seem like any have.

In today's narcissitic and materialistic world those who are honest, ethical, and have honor and integrity are few and far between. Those who have those qualities aren't in government and if they are, they won’t survive.

Yeah, we should probably have a reset and forgive everyone of everything and anything, start over but this time everyone knows they can't have secrets.

I don’t think many are in a forgiving mood. And maybe the consequences will stop future generations from selling their own people out. I’m all for tarring and feathering.

Can you imagine living in the U.K., where not only is the surveillance state more pervasive than in the U.S., it also encompasses video (and usually audio) surveillance of your every move doorstep to doorstep (and maybe inside the building, if it's a public place or an employer)? I can't, it seems like a true nightmare. The whole ten billion CCTV cameras or whatever they're up to now, all livestreamed to the Bobbies.

Sounds almost like an illusory panopticon where the mass psychological awareness and fear of total surveillance does the hard work of keeping a citizenry in good citizenship. Almost sounds like the digitized holographic West in general. Still sounds like hell.

Sorry to be so late but the LTC is a linguist and has a top secret clearance with special access. He definitely wasn’t talking with President Trump. I have no doubt he was placed in that job by the obama gang, to help their war effort in Ukraine. Trump put an end to that and it ended up exposing the rat by his testimony.

Expand full comment

Who said Vindman was "conversing with presidents or advising on policy decisions"? There most certainly are LTCs in the U.S. in positions to advise on policy decisions, in different capacities. Vindman was listening on a phone conversation, something that has to be done for any such call the President makes. The reason he was on the call is that he is fluent in Ukrainian and has intelligence training - he's competent to do a readout of the call and report on it. People in the State Department and elsewhere need to be made aware of such state to state contacts and their content and implications, no matter who is involved from the American or foreign side.

Expand full comment

Vindman said himself he was troubled by the president’s attempt to subvert foreign policy. The president makes foreign policy, not LTCs. I’m a retired army officer. I’m pretty aware of what army officers jobs are. And no, they don’t advise presidents on policy decision. At best there an aide to a general that does.

Expand full comment

1. "advise on policy decisions" doesn't mean they deliver their work product to POTUS personally.

2. Vindman's personal motivations in breaking his chain of command and acting in a fashion unbecoming to an officer has nothing to do with the (separate issue) of how he learned what he "leaked". You conflated the two.

3. (replying to your other comment to my post) I said nothing about whether Vindman was a "patriotic whistleblower". I focused on the facts around your assertion that "a Lieutenant Colonel is not anyone that would be conversing with presidents or advising on policy decisions". Now that I reread it, I realize the comment was simply nonsense that I should have ignored.

Expand full comment

You sound like the grammar Nazis on Facebook. Maybe replace “ignore” with “mind your business”. Nothing you noted is of any worth to the debate. Should you care to discuss or debate any of this I’m very happy to do that. Seems like you’re just looking to make corrections and point out meaningless bullshit. In which case Facebook or instagram may be a better place for someone who needs to nit pick syntax and not contribute any intellect to an important discussion.

So what you’re saying is LTC Douchebag is just a patriotic whistleblower trying to save america from Orange man?

[Alexander Vindman was deeply troubled by Trump's efforts to subvert U.S. foreign policy...

even though it's the President's joh to set U.S. foreign policy]

That is a deeply profound point: how many TDS sufferers actually realize that?

The Vindmans of the world live in far left virtual signaling bubbles that are infected with the most severe cases of TDS.

They need to be heard by the millions upon millions of regular, clear thinking Americans outside their bubble.

Thank you, Yuri, for exposing them for ridicule!!👍👍

I paid a quick visit to Dan Rather’s Substack, the comments are straight out of an insane asylum.

Those people live on an entirely different planet, where Donald Trump is imposing a dictatorship and Joe Biden is their anointed savior. There, Biden’s America is in great shape living under the benevolent influence of a kind, all knowing , incorruptible leader.... who only wants what’s best for his people.

I’ve never seen such an inversion of reality.

Those people are nuts......

It's a feedback loop. They're programmed to feel like self-righteous victims who are fighting for "truth & justice" in an "unjust and lying world." The music reinforces this asinine and upside-down belief, while "inspiring" them that they're 'strong and brave and oh-so-very-important'.

They are fking moronic mental cases.
