The commissars will get cringier until morale improves - A MSM propagandist is now cosplaying as a Demoralized DIEvy League president, and why every university needs DOGE like Bloat @ Brown
The very smart people at Harvard don’t seem to remember that the Supreme Court has already told them that discriminating on the basis of race is unconstitutional and yet today they promised to continue to do so. I hope the Feds drop the hammer on them.
If it were just Harvard, it would be bad. If it were only the Ivy League, it would be bad. But it is almost every university in the country--and universities in Canada are even worse, if you can imagine--including state universities that continue with DEI in spite of state laws (in many Republican states the passed anti-DEI legislation, and even California, thanks to public referenda). And do not dare to looks at the K12 schools, which cannot teach reading and math, but are enthusiastic about race bating and sexual transitioning children, oh yes, and Hamas.
They’re Harvard. They truly believe they are smarter than SCOTUS. Right after the affirmative action decision, Harvard issued a statement explaining how they could still racially discriminate in admissions decisions. I hope they get their asses sued off with punitive damages.
The Ivies have really gotten pretty silly but they are atypical of college presidents. Not that more average presidents are immune from the stuff you write about but the parameters of their jobs are different. For the semi-Ivies, they also have to worry about sports (usually football). Same for the Enormous State Universities and the heavily endowed but less prestigious institutions. However, the roughly 2500 other college presidents are actually expected to be a CEO which mainly involves keeping enrollment up and making the faculty happy (the source of all the silliness).
It would be an interesting (and certainly depressing) article comparing the writings of Alexander Hamilton and John Jay to the current crop of Columbia's illustrious leaders.
The whole "sit down, shut up and do what your told by your betters" thing seems to have always been how King's College has rolled. (original name of that skool)
So far the Trump administration has discovered fraud by mostly poor (or at least not rich) people, combing through the SS and finding lots 'dead people' cashing checks. I am waiting for them to arrest the epsteiners, the covidians, and these people ruining the American youth.
The ability of the Ivy League to continue to destroy their own reputations is amazing. The hubris required to continue to do the wrong thing in light of copious evidence that they're going in the wrong direction needs a convinced core of inept non-thinkers. Leadership by drone seems to be the norm.
The feds don't need to be involved with higher (or any) education. Not in the constitution, not their job. When a college has billions of dollars in their slush fund, they should support themselves.
They don't obey the law, they don't obey SCOTUS, and they continue to spout communist doctrine. Anyone else see a problem here?
The fact that Shipman was a “journalist” (quotes necessary) for such highly esteemed “news” (quotes necessary) outlets as CNN, ABC and NBC says all you need to know!
Shipman will crash and burn like the earlier two. I think the betting should be on "how," rather than "if." Just a matter of time, especially now when Trump is pulling the cosy financial rug out from under neath them and she has to tap the sacred endowment. She will have people coming at her from all sides, when she is used to fawning admiration and tuchus kissing. It will come as a shock to the system when she finds herself incapable of satisfying any of them.
Newsweek had a hilarious story about Shieh, who as far as I'm concerned is an absolute legend:
“Within an hour, Shieh said he received 20 responses, including retorts blasting him as ‘stupid' and one containing just his date of birth and Social Security number.
“‘Bro if you think Brown is too expensive go to another school,' read one email from an anonymous sender. 'People who aren't smarte [sic] enough to get a full ride or wealthy nepobabies go to a college they can afford. You couldn't gotten an associates at a community college and transferred, idiot. Sorry you're stupid and broke though.’
“Shieh subsequently received notifications that someone registered his email address at an HIV prevention site, as well as Pornhub and the Democratic National Committee. The sophomore was also urged to ‘f--k off' and ‘eat a bag of d-cks' in other messages. It was not clear if those insults came from anyone enrolled at or employed by Brown.”
There was a study released, I think, in the 90s which demonstrated that there is an inverse relationship between size of administrative staff by percentage in an educational institution and education outcomes.
In other words, they proved that as the administration grows, the education shrinks.
After one mention of that study on the news (news magazine? Maybe USNWR) the story sank never to be heard from again.
Seems to me someone needs to hunt it down and trot it out big time.

Excellent and comprehensive reporting as always, Yuri.

Chick presidents in academia…hasn’t that been DEBUNKED?

Nice style, man. LOL digs and curtains ripped open. Carry on.
Turn off the federal spigot. Today. Now.

Thanks for a great article.

Ah, those three female presidents of Columbia may very well become the current day version of The Three Stooges!! 😂😂😂

Ivy League schools are nothing but a giant circle jerk of leftists
