Comrades: Truth and beauty are universal.
My parents played classical music for me as a child. Now I am overjoyed to share it with my daughter. The pieces compiled below are, in my humble opinion, the best performances of the best classical music pieces. A YouTube commenter noted: “We can listen to this anytime, while people who were alive when this music came out had to wait years and save for months to see such a performance.” I welcome any suggestions on others to add. For modern classics, check out my Golden Age Mixtape. Bookmark both pages when you need a lift during these degenerate times and Current Thing Month.
Like everything else in Western civilization, classical music is also under attack. Vox pontificated that Beethoven’s 5th is “classist” I know one of the authors of that trash article and he is every bit the prep school douche you’d imagine. Blind auditions? Racist. Russian composers? Cancelled. Russian pussy and ball strokers too. It’s all so tiresome and predictable. Call me crotchety, but I’d much rather listen to classical music on my own than get ear raped and jostled at an EDM rave. I think that if these EDM festivals had one section devoted to classical music, the crowds would gravitate there. They would take their highs to the next level and get closer to the ethereal, instead of nodding to demonic beats.
Lovely list. Thank you.
I would add this, what I think is the most beautiful piece ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR2JlDnT2l8

I was starting to get ireful, but I'm awake too early today for my temperament so it took me a moment to remember that classical doesn't include, but succeeds, baroque.
I came late to an appreciation of these forms because I tended, as one o' them rotten kids, to loathe anything I was instructed to admire. But now I feel great pity for those who deprive themselves of Bach and Mozart, and the composers you list above. It's to remain always small and to deny oneself the only way, really, we get to hear the Divine.
