When those cave divers rescued the Thai schoolboys, my letter in a regional paper was published excoriating the "toxic masculinity" crowd. The goal of public education these days seems to be to neuter boys as early as possible; to make the natural developmental stages of boys into a pathology that must be therapized out of existence.
The full-on war against enjoying any outdoor activities during our Plague lockdowns was a war on all children, of course, but turning active boys into depressed online captives, that was malignant in the extreme.
“...but turning active boys into depressed online captives, that was malignant in the extreme.”
And completely part of their plan. The emasculation of men and boys has been in the works for years and years. How best to control these strong, masculine, testosterone fueled humans?? Shut them down continually. Criticize them constantly. Minimize their importance to society. Break their hearts. Destroy their souls. It’s a damn worldwide disgrace. But it’s the best way to eventually have a world full of angry, unfulfilled women and weak, submissive men. So easily controlled. And a great danger.
I was blessed to be a police officer for 25-years and so was surrounded all day by these rough, tough and often crude men. And I wouldn’t trade those years for anything. My husband and I were volunteer firefighters for several years until recently. These men (and often women) are the bravest of the brave. And I was honored to work with them for so many years.
Well, I'm not going to over-mythologize anyone, either. As a born and raised (now ex-) New Yorker, I've always seen the other less attractive side of these guys too. No shortage of bullies and lots of unwarranted swagger. But lots of that comes from the badly-done raising of boys.
The best of them, though--that's here, honored in this post.
I totally agree. I met many assholes in uniform during my 25 years on the job and in my personal life since retirement. The quality of the officers I’ve met did change over the course of years and not for the better.
We had police corruption and brutality scandals for as long as I've been an adult so that's well back before your service began.
And before that, the dirty cop was in American literature of the 20th century and not over-exaggerated. People who handle power well ain't the common sort.
Oh, absolutely. There have been dirty cops forever. Some folks go into the profession because the opportunity for abuse is there and they want an avenue to join in. I never worked with anyone of that ilk. But I certainly heard about it...mostly in the larger cities.
Yuri, another excellent piece. The Granite Mountain Memorial is very moving. If you make it to Arizona I’ll gladly hike to it with you. And thanks for the shout-out!
maverick was ok, im not sure why i hear so many praising it, its just a promo for the navy which those that join up will be surprised to find has gone woke and dumb and boosted
"one world trade" - how very WEF.
Reminds me of Google dropping "don't be evil" as their mantra. I mean, why?
This is a good post.

Thank you Yuri. I’m here because of The Good Citizen. He mentioned your work. I’m glad he did.
Great stuff.
