Frankly I don't remember which is the first Substack that I ever read. It could have been Yuri's. At any rate, I quicky realized how significant Substack is. There are some other sites that are essentially censorship free (and of course many that are propaganda sites disguised as free speech). But Substack is incredibly literate and fact-based, as evidenced by Yuri's own site.
Perhaps a hundred years from now, if the totalitarian state hasn't achieved full control, people will look back as the early 2000's and evaluate the extent to which unfettered free speech, unfiltered by corporate media, changed everything. I'm old enough to remember when all that any of us new was what the legacy media told us. Those days are gone, and will never return, as long as we fight hard to preserve our freedom.
Progressive totalitarianism is collapsing before our eyes, unable to withstand the onslaught from honest, rational people. Keep it UP!

I too am in Fupaz suburban absurdland and am encouraged daily to come out of the shadows and get this spine stronger. Yuri, thanks for being here. I have been writing under the pen name Silence DoGood since the end of 2018, when I had zero followers on Twitter, and grew that to 35k+ but was banned Jan 8, 2021. I found myself on Telegram, where I rebuilt my digital army to around 24K followers now. I teach my readers about what I know in the world on topics such as precious metals, the economy, the financial world, and like yourself, trying to give people a peek behind the curtain, having done a myriad of jobs over the last two decades (I too am a millennial, with 5 children)! I love your pen name, and what Yuri stood for. The man had principles, and in a world run amok, he figured it out. In this world, a little bit of discernment can turn into a great deal of wisdom, especially when most of the children are figuratively running around drinking sugar water out of fountains (I travel back to the scene in Idiocracy). Although I am on the opposite coast residing in New England, I hope to one day meet you in person. Regardless of what any judgers might say about you, you are a true American Patriot!

I will share this with a friend whom I (and others) pushed to join Substack. He seems to worry about his slow growth of participants.
He, like you is smart and pithy. As a Brit, he "gets us" and is not afraid to voice his opinion.
