Comrades: One of the reasons I started this Substack is because a few family and friends recommended it, but not because of my writing skills. Several are doctors who angrily “unsubscribed” from articles I was forwarding them written by Dr. Peter Mccullogh, Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Vinay Prasad, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, and Dr. Marty Makary. Yes, you read that right - there are doctors out there who don’t want to review any data that runs counter to The Narrative, even if it’s from other doctors. Doesn’t that give you a warm fuzzy feeling the next time you go under the knife?
Quick shoutout to 2 doctors who have become paid subscribers: Big Tech engineer D and Ivy League professor S. Thank you for your support from deep inside the Politburo. I’m sure it will make the doctors quoted later in this article mad if I got more subscribers.
Like all professions, there are incredible doctors and there are terrible ones. What do you call the person who is bottom of their class in medical school? A doctor. For the most part, they are decent human beings who genuinely want to help other human beings. However, they are flawed mortals working in deeply flawed systems. One of the most morally upstanding people I know is a doctor, as is one of the most morally compromised who got away with several legitimate crimes in college.
The profession attracts rule followers and hoop jumpers who prioritize IQ and book smarts over EQ and street smarts. They are the awkward students who spent Saturday nights in college cramming for orgo exams and MCATs instead of socializing. A grueling decade of medical school and residency wears them down. When they finally start practicing, they are incentivized to bill and prescribe as many procedures and drugs as possible to climb out of debt (up to $500K). It’s no surprise why they are so stressed and burned out.
I have spent part of my career working with health systems and analyzing industry trends. Based on that experience and the ~20 doctors I know personally, here are a few recommendations:
The best form of healthcare is preventative. Keep yourself in the best shape possible through diet and exercise to you minimize your exposure to the sickness-care system. Unplug from The Matrix.
If a hospital were a restaurant, the person ordering the meal is different from the person eating the food, who is also different from the person paying the tab (oftentimes the government). These misaligned incentives drive high costs.
Specialists are like tradespeople. Just as an electrician focuses on wires and doesn’t touch plumbing, a cardiologist focuses on the heart and doesn’t touch the stomach. Most are too busy and tired to do their own research on anything outside their field, which means more deference to bureaucrats like Fauci and Walensky.
Always ask for a second opinion and chat with nurses, who often know more about what’s actually going on - unless they’re too busy performing TikTok dances for “Dr.” Jill Biden.
Most healthcare systems are using antiquated technology that prevents them from getting a good handle on data and population health
Corporate mergers and private equity roll-ups have reduced system capacity and quality of care. Two-thirds of doctors are now employed, a massive shift from two-thirds being private practice ~30 years ago. Like other industries, mom and pops are being eaten alive by the behemoths. Stunningly, there are fewer hospital beds in the system now than pre-COVID or decades ago even as the population has grown and become less healthy.
Healthcare executives are profit driven and COVID incentivized bad practices. Power law applies as 20% of patients (VIP aka chronically ill) drive 80% of the revenue. I’ve heard many use the creepy phase “we want to own the entire patient”, which is a code word for milking cash cows for as many procedures and treatments as possible.
Doctors can’t resist the siren song of Big Pharma (details here). The stereotype of attractive sales reps using their “assets” to push pills is real.
Find a private practice doctor who is over 40. Younger health system doctors are essentially cogs in the machine and more likely to be into dangerous woke practices like race-based medicine and gender theory.
Crimes against humanity like these will become more widespread: denying healthcare children due to unvaccinated parents (Cyprus), denying organ transplants to the unvaccinated (Boston), parents having to flee with their child from the state’s control over gender transition (Washington)
Nurses who were fired for natural immunity deserve all our love and support. They are the modern day Salem witches.
Here are a few snippets from texts and emails I have received from doctors. Once again, like many things I have posted, I wish this wasn’t real. The long note after the jump is the last one I sent some of them before starting this Substack. As you’ll see, they refused to answer basic questions about COVID and vaccines.
Regarding the unvaccinated: “They can do whatever they want and die. I don't really care anymore… I've lost all sympathy for them.”
Regarding unvaccinated nurses: “They are dumb and dangerous, they should just get vaccinated or get fired.”
Regarding UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas: “I see no problem with this and it’s not a discussion I want to have with you. I go by what medical schools teach. Stop patronizing my education and profession.”
In response to the assertion that government, media, and corporation are incentivized to lie and divide for profit: “All I see right now is YOU dividing people the further you go down this road.”
In response to Trump getting COVID and several administration members contracting it after Amy Coney Barrett’s swearing in ceremony: “Hope he dies… hilarious… super spreaders… serves them right.”
In response to summer 2020 riots and looting near my apartment: “Looks fun!”
In response to cancel culture causing people to lose their jobs: “The range of ideas discussed is wider than ever before. Now is the time to trust experts and institutions more.” - I challenged this person to back up these words by posting “all lives matter” on social media, which of course did not happen. The memes are real - she has a PhD in a social science, lectures at an Ivy, and is on the board of a globalist NGO. Yet this Substack now has 100x more readers than her word salad ESG thesis which took several years to write. Would be a shame if it reached 1000x more readers and she stumbled across it ;)
“I don’t want my kids to be around any unvaccinated people. They wear masks outside to keep them safe and show that they are considerate.”
“I’d rather play video games in my free time than read these annoying Substacks or follow the news. People are not going to change their minds.”
“My glasses never fog up when I wear masks all day, so it’s utter bullshit if other people complain about it.”
“You don’t have an MD or PhD, so you are not qualified to talk to us about anything related to science or medicine. Your job is bullshit compared to ours.”
“FYI, our county does have an indoor mask mandate if you plan to go somewhere when you're down here. Follow the rules.”
“Novak Djokovic is a selfish asshole for not getting vaccinated. Australia is right to deport him.”
Last week: “I saw a bunch of people wearing not masks indoors, I can’t believe they think COVID is over!”
Small sample size and all are under 40, but the majority of the ~20 doctors I know posted photos of them and/or their children getting jabbed on social media. Most of that group also posted protest virtue signal pics.
December 21, 2021
I have sent you both presents that I hope you can approach with an open mind, along with the rest of this note. These books are Top 10 on Amazon and one is written by a former New York Times health reporter (author’s note: they were Pandemia and The Real Dr. Fauci). And if you so desire, this will be my last email about this subject. I am taking your advice and starting a Substack.
Let me take an opportunity reestablish a few baselines:
I have the utmost respect for what you and all healthcare professionals do.
We are living through an unprecedented time in public health. As a naturally curious person who analyzes risk/reward and calls out bullshit for a living, I am examining all the angles. I genuinely want to understand your thought process and information sources.
I will always have your back and be open to dialogue. You can call/email/text any time, any day, about any topic and I will respond as soon as possible.
Exchanging more serious texts/emails a few times a year is not divisive, it is a scientific method that helps us arrive at truth. Changing your mind when presented with new evidence is part of that process. I have done this many times, which has helped me grow. I am trying to be as rational and data-driven as possible.
We are all stubborn by genetics, but facts matter. I am noticing in your responses a refusal to engage on the facts and lack of compassion for the human suffering in areas outside of COVID. Just because it doesn't affect you directly, doesn't mean you shouldn't care.
Censorship, unsubscribing, and ad hominem attacks are counter productive.
Words like science should be protected against political agendas.
We should always be questioning authority and experts, especially when we have evidence of their lying, gaslighting, and conflicts of interest. Just because you are not an expert, doesn't mean you can't do your own research and draw your own conclusions. This is not a religion where experts are priests and their word is god's.
We are part of a complex interlinked society and should do what we can to improve it, paying attention and making positive contributions beyond just doing our jobs.
Government policies that coerce, segregate, and discriminate while violating basic human rights are never on the right side of history. We should not treat any human being as sick until proven healthy and not stigmatize their personal choices.
I send these articles to you because I care. If anything I shared changed your perspective even slightly, then it was worth it.
The definition of insanity is doing the same failed things repeatedly and expecting different results. South Africa has shown that Omicron is less severe than previous strains with 80% lower hospitalization risk, which should be good news. Yet fear porn is dominating headlines, so mandates and shutdowns are returning around the world. It's a predictable pattern. Herds of asymptomatic people are lining up for hours to get tested, indicating a mental health crisis of mass psychosis. Kids are being forced to eat outside in the freezing cold. If you evaluate mandates based on logic or results, they don't work and cause more harm than good. Don't take my word for it, you can read through 400 studies worth of evidence here.
A year ago, we went to Florida for 2 weeks to see for ourselves how they remained open while our city locked down. I would be happy to pay for your hotels if you want to join us this winter. We can play tennis together and have a good time, like people down there have been doing for over a year free of fear and anxiety. The fact that Florida has achieved better health outcomes with no restrictions means that any government imposing them is knowingly harming their citizens.
Many respected doctors are also voicing their concerns. Have you read Dr. Vinay Prasad lamenting about how we have failed a generation of children or raising a red flag about booster risks for men under 40? Have you listened to Dr. Peter McCullough discussing how life saving early treatments and vaccine injuries have been suppressed and censored? Have you reviewed the Great Barrington Declaration created by doctors from Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford? Do Dr. Fauci and Dr. Wallensky have absolute authority and infallible credibility, free of conflicts of interest? If you haven't heard of these other doctors I listed and/or disagree with them, why?
Saying you don't care about certain issues because they don't directly affect you is myopic. Everything has collateral damage, indirect impacts, and tradeoffs. Consider the following downstream effects of ineffective and unscientific policies:
Essential workers quitting over mandates means stressed systems will be strained further, putting everyone at more risk and causing more exhaustion among remaining workers like you.
Hundreds of millions of people have been thrown into poverty worldwide by lockdowns. They will suffer many hardships and health issues. 250K children have died from starvation in south Asia alone. Fentanyl deaths exceeded 100,000 in the US this year (far above COVID) and is now the leading cause of death for people aged 18-45.
Children wearing masks and remote schooling leads to long-term developmental issues. Society will have to care for these children and they will grow into neurotic adults who will be in charge of us and our kids. School closures particularly affected economically disadvantaged communities, which will perpetuate the cycle of poverty and crime associated with poor educational outcomes.
Printing $8 trillion in response to lockdowns is causing record inflation which means you will pay 7%+ more for everything, in addition to higher taxes. Unless your income has gone up by the same amount, we all will get poorer while the rich get richer. Happy to provide advice on investment strategies to mitigate this.
Governments and corporations taking emergency powers "for your safety" enables them to further trample on our rights and continue the march towards tyranny, as has happened throughout history. All of this started as "15 days to slow the spread" to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed. We had 2 years to increase ICU capacity and try non-vaccine early treatments but didn't, so the system has failed all of us.
Today in the US, many people still face restrictions as well as the threat of losing their jobs even if they have natural immunity. Australia is removing people from their homes to quarantine camps. Many European countries like Germany and Austria are banning the unvaccinated from all public life with police checking papers like it's 1939 all over again. What is next? Where do you draw the line? First they came...
Collapse of trust in institutions leads to broader societal unrest. Not long ago we were told that if you got vaccinated, you could go back to normal life because it prevents you from getting and spreading COVID. Now the messaging has completely changed where you still need to distance, wear a mask, and get boosted. How can people continue to trust those who lied to them and keep moving the goalposts? "Protect the protected by forcing the unprotected to take a protection that didn’t protect the protected."
Setting bad precedents now will lead to more bad decisions in the future. We never took such extreme measures in previous pandemics and experts recommended against major disruptions, but all of that was thrown out the window this time around. If another outbreak occurs, it might be groundhog day all over again.
On a personal note, I am lucky to work from home. However, upon returning to the city we decided to move away because we could not walk outside at night without being harassed. We know people who have been attacked and have to remain vigilant to avoid becoming the next Ee Lee, Mohammed Anwar, Than Htwe, Dennis Zheng, or Woom Sing Tse. If you are unfamiliar with these names, I suggest you google it and ask yourself why you never heard of them. Using COVID and "justice" as an excuse to release criminals from jail, defund the police, and reform bail laws has made all of us less safe. 16 cities have reached all-time records for annual homicides and nationwide they are up 30%, the largest single year increase in history. All of this leads to more victims of violence flooding into your hospitals.
Finally, here are the answers to my original questions. They took ~15 minutes to answer, many of the citations can be found here.
Select the larger number (bolded/underlined)
Average American life expectancy OR average age of American who died with COVID
SF drug overdose deaths OR SF COVID deaths
Chicago number of children shot OR USA number of children who have died with COVID
USA number of children who have died in car accidents or drowning OR USA number of children who have died with COVID
USA number of teenagers who have died of suicide OR USA number of teenagers who have died with COVID
Risk of COVID to a vaccinated person over 60 OR risk of COVID to an unvaccinated child
Recovery rate for healthy people under 65 OR 99.9%
COVID deaths under Biden (10 months, vax available throughout) OR COVID deaths under Trump (10 months, vax not available until the last month)
Average number of co-morbidities of a COVID death OR number of genders
Years it takes for a blue medical mask to decompose OR years the USA has existed
Largest criminal fine in history paid by Pfizer (in dollars) OR number of masks dumped in the oceans - $2.3 BILLION!
Is there a conflict of interest for the former head of the FDA to currently serve on the board of Pfizer and many FDA panel members having received sponsorship from Pfizer in the past? Is there a conflict of interest for the vaccine developers to have immunity from liability, while earning profits from taxpayer money and lobbying for government mandates? YES
Since research has shown natural immunity is superior to the vaccine, why do people with natural immunity still have to get the vaccine in order to keep their jobs? No scientific reason, just money and power.
If the healthcare system is strained and unvaccinated healthcare workers were heroes for treating unvaccinated patients before a vaccine was available, why should they be fired even if they have natural immunity? No scientific reason, just money and power
How effective are the vaccines and masks at preventing you from getting and spreading COVID? Not effective. The most vaxxed and masked places like cities college campuses are seeing the largest rises in cases. Viral loads in the unvaccinated and vaccinated are the same, the only difference is the severity of illness. For masks, healthcare workers wearing N95 masks makes sense and works, but regular masks for civilians does not. Dr. Leana Wen just said "Cloth Masks Are Little More Than Facial Decorations"
Are there any long-term studies on the vaccine? No and the FDA is blocking full release of data until 2076.
How has the definition of vaccine and herd immunity changed? Vaccines used to mean you can't get or spread a disease, herd immunity used to be achievable without vaccines
What other treatments have been used successfully to treat COVID? Africa and India have used hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin to great effect. While they have younger less obese populations, they are also poorer countries with more crowded living conditions, less modern healthcare infrastructure, and lower vaccination rates. Big pharma corporations can't make record profits from readily available drugs, so they have been suppressing them.
Why should vaccinated people be scared of unvaccinated people and still wear masks anywhere? No scientific reason, just divisive irrational fear. There has also been no spread from walking by people outdoors, but half of the people in my well-educated neighborhood still wear masks outside. That is the definition of anti-science.
Why did states with the most draconian restrictions like NY/NJ have worse health outcomes than states that did not like Florida? Their governors sent infected patients into nursing homes and then covered it up, killing tens of thousands including 20 at our grandma's home. She and many other elderly have also suffered from a year of no physical contact with their families. Keeping people isolated indoors makes them less healthy.
Why do American citizens have vaccine mandates in order to keep their jobs or re-enter the country, but illegal immigrants and refugees entering the country do not? No scientific reason, just money and power.
Why were last summer's protests and riots not considered super spreader events? No scientific reason, just money and power.
Why is the US the only country pushing masks and vaccines on children? At what point should they be able to go to school without masks? Big pharma and teachers unions flexing their power. The fact that many large urban school districts have no offramps is an embarrassing failure, especially when children around the country and world are going to school maskless with no health issues.
Are the risks of vaccine side effects like myocarditis, depression and obesity from isolation, and stunted development from masked and remote schooling lower than the risk of COVID to children? No, they are much higher and we are sadly only seeing the tip of the iceberg now.
Since obesity is a major risk factor for severe COVID cases, why is there no public health messaging encouraging people to exercise and eat healthier to lose weight? You can't make as much money off healthy people.
Why should asymptomatic people be tested? No scientific reason, just money and power. We have never done mass testing of asymptomatic people. The focus should be on hospitalizations and death, not cases.
How accurate are PCR tests? The inventor of the PCR test recommended against using them for this purpose because the sensitivity can be dialed up, causing false positives.
Who profited economically from all the lockdowns? Billionaires and corporations allied with government.
Why was Kamala vaccine hesitant until she became Vice President? Politics and power. Your entire industry's credibility is damaged when leaders switch from being anti-vax to pro vaccine mandate just because the president changed.
Biden has said that he wouldn't use vaccine mandates and that you can't catch COVID if you are vaccinated. Does this count as misinformation and lying? YES
I just love this response... “You don’t have an MD or PhD, so you are not qualified to talk to us about anything related to science or medicine. Your job is bullshit compared to ours.”
Since when has it been mandatory to have a MD or PhD to know anything about science or medicine?? In my experience many MDs and PhDs are rather myopic in their outlook as they are either too busy to learn anything new (MDs) or too consumed by their specialisation to know anything outside their narrow field (PhDs). I've deliberately NOT spent years doing a PhD but rather multiple Masters degrees and been an autodidact so I can have a broader appreciation of the big picture.
I find many doctors have just sold out - very little respect for the profession now.
