"Teachers focused on teaching and not indoctrinating. I don’t recall a single politicized lesson at my public high school. No rainbow flags, no trans kids - maybe a few were gay but they weren’t mistreated for it."
It might surprise younger people, but I never had any idea what party, if any, my teachers belonged to. Civics and history class were about governments, not parties. Maybe they should have mentioned that it is the democratic party that is and was behind all institutional racism. I had to learn that for myself.
I can't even say with any certainty what party, if any, my parents supported. They taught their kids to think for themselves and make their own choices. Today, that's radical.
“... that it is the democratic party that is and was behind all institutional racism.” To go further, it is the left that has been behind nearly every genocide and totalitarian regime of the 20th century.
Once again, flipping unbelievable research and commentary! Always screws up my well-planned busy day because an email from Yuri means 'Stop what you're doing, read this carefully'. Here in the UK, very similar things happening. A woke, all white sports organisation had an event crudely trying to be 'diverse and inclusive' by saying in adverts 'black athletes welcome'. So I asked them 'please define black; would it include mixed race people, Asians, Indians etc? Would they be black enough? Doesn't sound very 'inclusive' to me, quite the opposite'. And wow, did they explode and get nasty, it led to a long legal process with them digging themselves into an even bigger hole, not finished yet.
I can’t wait to see the documentary he makes about that struggle session. They think that they’re going to break him. I suspect he’ll be the one doing the breaking.
I was in school, kindergarten to high school graduate from 1971-1984. Like one of the commenters below wrote, I couldn't have told you the political leanings of a single teacher I had during those 13 years- not a single one, and I was a politically aware/interested person during the majority of that time- I sat up watching the presidential election returns of the 1976 election as a 10 year old.
College was the same- I couldn't have told you with more than 90% certainty what political party any of my college professors were supporting. Sure, I could make an educated guess for most of them, but there was zero indoctrination or attempts to influence me one way or the other. So it must have changed sometime after 1988.
“I was wrong about x,y,z and you were right. Thanks for trying to help correct me.” Would be greatly appreciated to hear from those who finally turn away from demoralization. Otherwise it’s never clear if they have recovered. And the sour taste of the past is not completely cleansed. Though they are victims of a psyop, their reframing of your conscience as harmful division that must be silenced is hard to forget. Though the woke may feel the same, the meta ethics and facts are not ultimately on their side.
Amen. In the 80s I recall my first day at university having come from a small, sheltered, rural town. A fellow sat down beside me and introduced himself. I was a clarinetist, he was a flutist. Turns out he was attracted to the same sex but for the duration of my years in music school he was just 'Dave' (not his name) who played flute and had the locker down from mine. No one cared as long as you rehearsed. No politics, just Trivial Pursuit and Friday nights at a restaurant eating fries and pizza.
Fantastic post! I think we’re close to the same age and had very similar experiences, however I do remember some trial runs of commie psy ops even in elementary school, mostly related to environmentalism stuff - remember the panic over acid rain? I also have vague memories of learning about Captain Planet… in retrospect, the high school psy op they ran was the “anti-bullying” campaign… didn’t realize it was installing the foundation for the Rule of The Victim Class. But yes overall far far less blatantly indoctrinated than kids today.
A little different, but in the early 80's the principal of my elementary school changed the "Christmas Concert" to a "Winter Concert". My parents pulled me from the activity. Also, probably around the same time the Lord's Prayer was removed to accommodate the single atheist kid. The rest was pretty normal, but that stuck with me. The principal was a church-going man too.
Acid rain was stopped by environmental regulations. This post was a strange interpretation of history and a reminder that every generation thinks that the next one is feckless and crazy. In my very normal high school in suburban flyover land in the early 1990s, nobody would dare come out as gay, bullying was rife, most teachers seemed to be left-wing and we shot guns in the rifle range in the basement. Things change.
I was bullied and I bullied. It didn't kill any of us and we grew up knowing we could handle most anything. They are definitely not the cool kids over there. They are so miserable and they think it's about politics. It's really about their personality.
GSP, a world champion ufc fighter for years was bullied as a child. Later as champion he saw his bully begging for change and showed kindness to him. As a result the man turned his life around. The bully’s father had communicated only with drunken violence to his son. Gsp said it felt good to show both mercy and grace rather than hanging on to bad feelings.
One young man I knew was bullied because they sensed he would go along with the crowd no matter what. They left him alone when he stopped being an empty suit.
I think the best thing about this post was the Bed Intruder video. It's stuck with me through the years. I get being blind sighted at college. I think the pull-out lesson is, there is a battery of individuals who have no right or authority to tell a stranger 'who they are', by redefining them in a criminal context of a human rights violation on first meeting. That's suspicious as hell.
Communism's track record for being slavers and democidal maniacs with broad varieties of mass graves is not a good one. There's really no reason to pay for a reeducation camp and call it "college".
I graduated high school in 1971. Social engineering was getting underway. In a,very conservative state, we still had the Peace movement, "make love not war, hippies (a new thing), and pot was available to the elites. Our journalism teacher was an activist. She turned her classroom into a psychedelic Peace is Love. All you need is Love, anti Vietnam War room. Kids loved it - ha. It took a couple weeks for the news of her class to get out, and diwn came the Black cloth walls, the wall size Peace and heart murals, the lights that made everything glow in the dark. This was the beginning of the end of normal.

People are incensed when I point out that Hitler was a progressive. But he absolutely was.
All utopianists are Progressives and there is no end to which they cannot and will not go to make you the better person you should be.
Stalin & Mao too!
“everyone could dish it out and take it”. Yes. And that’s HUGE.

Jordan Peterson told to attend 'Re-education camp', good luck with that one, nutjobs.

Oh, and the hole in the ozone layer! All practice to see what could panic 10 year olds the most

Bullying isn’t fun but it does teach us resilience and prepares us for reality

Break the cycle.

Exactly right.
love it! Mockery, satire, grow stronger...
The Bed Intruder remix was a masterpiece of its time. I would call it a “classic” now!
