Best hike I’ve done was a Rim-to-Rim Grand Canyon hike. Down the North Rim, overnight at the bottom and up the South Rim. After 15-miles down your quads are fried so the 10-miles up can be a tad painful. But what a hike! I did this with my son when he was 20-years-old and he still says it was one of our best mother-son adventures.

I don't know about all those "very difficult" hikes. No thanks. :)

This past June, I took the hike along Leigh Lake in Tetons Nat. Park. Amazing views and mostly FLAT.

I did south rim Grand Canyon on Bright Angels trail down to Indian Garden and back. I was wondering why park service has to conduct many rescues every year... Until you see the hikers! Holy moly. People seriously have no clue. In Europe you never see so unprepared people like there.

I just went looking for a vid. of the Milford Track (New Zealand) and some of the reviews were hilarious- this was my fav.: "Amazing how poorly prepared some of the freedom walkers were. One took no food & was going to buy food on the track [there are no shops], another was totally unprepared for the sandflies [they swarm relentlessly and the end of the track is called 'Sandfly Point' for this reason], one carried his sleeping bag with no cover under his arm [it rains 200 days of every year] and the classic tramper was carrying all his gear in 2 plastic supermarket bags."

Mount Katahdin, Maine, via Knifes Edge. the northern-most terminus of the A.T. Been up to Katahdin Falls. Never timed it for the full ascent.

Best bang for the buck: Beehive Basin Trail, Big Sky, MT. 7,900' to 9,200'. Four mile out and back. Family friendly, but bring bear spray.

Hanakāpīʻai Falls Trail, Kauai — Stunning

Great list of hikes, but the 18 hour “day” hikes up and down fourteeners don’t sound like much fun.

Was supposed to visit three of these last month. Seattle moving co. huckster: "We have your stuff Arizona 2 days. You be there yes?"

"We planned a trip Marcel, a week long trip to national parks..."

"yes or no, you be there?"

"Okay, fine. We'll do it another time."

Title Card: Four Weeks Later

"Your stuff is coming now. Be ready."

If I ever see Marcel walking the streets alone at night...

For shame, Marcel. The 4 corners states are magical, enjoy!

In addition to being a brilliant artist, David Hockney knows how to see what others miss. His book

"Secret Knowledge: Rediscovering the Lost Techniques of the Old Masters" is a great example of his ability to question conventional wisdom about the way art was created by the masters.

If you go to Zion, the shuttle busses transport your bicycles as well, just toss them on the bike rack. Bring your bikes or rent them.

We spent a whole day zooming from the top of the park down to the bottom at breakneck speed, then having the shuttle bus take us back to the top to do it all over again.

Pro-tip, eat at a local diner and make friends with the waiter or waitress and ask them the local hangouts and secret spots.

We ended up camping at a hidden lake on top of a mountain, and some locals actually gave us their kayaks to use for a few days.

Long's Peak is a great day hike, albeit a bit long. The last 1500' of elevation or so have some of the best views out there...

Thank you for not mentioning the beautiful hiking trails in West Virginia, such as those at Harper's Ferry. We already have too many commies from NYC, DC, Northern Virginia, Baltimore, and other parasitic places invading due to the plandemic.

Climbed both Whitney and Half Dome in my younger years... before permitting.

Climbed Whitney from the back side and spent the night on the summit
