Spot on, Yuri. This was my comment on a post about lunatic DNC lap/attack dog Stacy Plaskett repeating Democrat talking points when questioning RFK jr at a hearing held by the House Weaponization of Government Committee:

“I feel like Truman in the Truman Show when he’s losing his mind and his wife keeps doing product placement.

‘Why don't you let me fix you some of this Mococoa drink? All natural cocoa beans from the upper slopes of Mount Nicaragua. No artificial sweeteners.

Truman : [looking around] What the hell are you talking about? Who are you talking to?’

Sane people are losing their minds and the Democrat committee members just keep reading from the script. Who are they talking to?? How do I get out of this show??”

It isn't just the DNC. Remember the neocon-controlled RNC of the WMD era? This is why Trump is a scourge to all control freaks, he refuses to use the official script of DC land.

So good. My only problem with it is by the end it’s a little too hitting you over the head that it’s about religion (“I am the Creator …. Of a tv show”). When in truth it’s only God truth that lets us see past the lies of this world!

That’s interesting, I’d never thought about it that way before.

I saw it as something more personal and deeply disturbing. The betrayal of parents to their child.

The veiled threats & unconvincing promises that its better to be here and naive, controlled, and used by us than to have your freedom because being autonomous is too scary.

Once the child takes the leap and discovers that it is scary but manageable with the right tools (which he now has to learn), the parents become obsessed with sabotaging the child due to its chutzpah of daring to defy them.

They had protested to the world that their child couldn’t manage in the real world and it was far safer for it tucked into a web of lies. Now they had to create situations where the child would fail to prove that they were right.

The child in turn now sees the parents as a wizard of Oz figure who is weak and pathetic, albeit dangerous to him, but is determined to make a life for himself.

I guess I’m describing the life of a child with one narcissistic parent and one psychopath parent. And I agree with you that religion is the way out. G-d is bigger than them.

Interesting. "You'll live on Seahaven Island love it." Might be due for a rewatch, Spotless Mind, too. Great read!

Glad you noted the soundtrack... was one of the first CDs I ever bought and a formative soundtrack of my youth. Lots of good stuff on there, Raising The Sail and Father Kolbe's Preaching are two of my favorites.

Thank you Yuri,

I saw this movie when it first came out, I was with a boyfriend at the time that had ill intentions towards me (long story) and he was strangely quiet after the movie finished.

I was intrigued with it and asked him what he thought. Looking towards his feet he casually mumbled “it was ok I guess...” and ended the conversation. (It took me a while to figure that one out.)

Without wanting to turn this into Therapy 101, I was profoundly affected by the film and I just love that you have now included it in your stack to point out yet another way that people can subvert and demoralise others for their own gain. The gaslighting is a big topic at the moment so I can see why this resonates with many of us.

(Gaslighting children can lead to serious mental illness in the future. Psychologists have postulated that in the future the majority of children of today will have some variation of a Cluster B personality disorder as adults. So I like that you included corporations in this article because they are also a part of the problem, media, advertising etc.)

The truly sick ones will sometimes get little to no benefit but they care about the fact that they get more than the dudded ones do. Having more makes them feel ok. And only that. Just ok. Pathetic isn’t it? Unfortunately also hard work if not outright terrifying for us.

Another medal for your shelf Yuri 👏🏼🏆
