On point 4: My uncle was a West Texas oilman and quite a character as they tended to be back in the day. He told me that a lot of oil deals among those he knew were sealed with handshakes. No self-respecting oilman around Midland would break deals. And if they did, word would get around.
Oil biz in So.La.exactly the same. Word is bond, handshake is signature. Serious men getting serious shit done. I feel blessed to have been reared with those values.
I like #9. It explains why the woke left are so unconvincing, like AOC and Bernie on their "Fight Oligarchy" tour. They don't believe that crap, but they're trying to convince people they do.
Coincidentally, and quite humorously, if you have a minute to view a segment of AOC's address in Greeley CO (link below) .... She does apparently know how to read. But reading can be less convincing than speaking, especially when truncating the phrase "fights harder" into "farts...." at about 30:15 in the video.
We are watching now with our 23 yo daughter. She LOVES it, and is positively shocked at how well-liked Trump is. The show is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it. My husband and I used to make sure the kids were all in bed before this came on, back in the day. Fun to watch it with one of those kids now.
"Think Outside The Box" is probably the attribute that separates the champion from the field.
But first you must use theory of mind...which requires listening to put you in a position where you can seek to understand. If you don't you're the "price" guy.
Selling "value" is the key to success. There's just no other way.
There's no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs. Negotiating is a series of Ws, in this way you can set up "upfront contracts" for each step in the sales process.
If you do that correctly there's no need for further negotiations when you put the contract in front of them because people do not like going back on saying yes for a series of little Ws.
If you don't have a "warm" close than you know you have not done a thorough job during discovery.
All the people who trot out Trump's "bankruptcies" as evidence that he failed in business. Never mind all his incredible successes too -- not all business ventures succeed (duh) - but Trump clearly learned from every setback -- and -- he picked up and went after it again.
This is off topic, but I wanted to thank you for recommending Clarkson's Farm. My wife and I are about halfway through season 2, and just love it. Most of the folks around us are either farmers or former farmers. We had some friends over this past week who raise beef cattle and crop farm about 2,000 acres, and showed them the very first episode. The husband is one of the most stoic people imaginable, and he was laughing his ass off. As they were leaving he said he'd like to watch all 3 seasons. We found a wholesaler on-line and bought 2 complete series: one for us and one for our friends.
Never been a CEO, nor wanted to but I hung around with them for decades. I could add a couple of things. Pay attention to your OODA loop. Trump is great at this, especially Trump 2.0. He moves so fast that his opponents are always about 5 moves behind him. When dealing with disloyalty, it is sometimes useful to leave the person in place but feed him disinformation for the point of confusing the enemy. I could put a couple of Trump's points together to get this but sometimes, if you can't get an agreement on a small issue, it is helpful to expand the scope. Compromise is merely a ceasefire. A victory is a win-win deal.
This is an important link nothing to do with the article but I thought I should pass it on
It’s about the 14th amendment lawyer explain to me a couple decades ago that we lost our sovereignty as individuals when we became citizens we were above the government now below the government

Handshake deals are for high-trust societies.

thank now i wont have to watch the whole thing
How in the world could anyone listen to that thing talk for over 30 minutes and not die from the insanity?
Painful, isn't it? I didn't mean for anyone to endure the lead-up. I certainly didn't.

Everyone was a fan of Trump in 2004. The Apprentice is entertaining and educational. Will be posting a review of the first season, stay tuned!

Corporate reorganizations of business ventures,

All are good… #47… Loyalty. I would say be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger….
Or in another sense, speak well of you “adversaries”.
I agree Yuri, People are Strange (52) is a keeper. Never judge a book by its cover.

#53 - Plan B and #14 - Be quick but be careful
Loyalty. Loyalty. Loyalty. This is the one thing that is so important. For business, for life, for everything.
#14 is wise and true.
These are all great, but I do hope he follows through with 62 after what happened this week!

It definitely gives some insight into the man's psyche. No huge surprises there.
Heh... I can't help but be reminded of "The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Efficient Mercenaries" from the classic webcomic Schlock Mercenary:
