What i notice is the lack of dialogue (and quality) between people that posts on these boards for all the reasons you point out.

They basically have nothing meaningful to say to each other because they're all saying the same thing and are just there to let off some hate that's boiling over their cauldron of TDS.

Here are the types of media bias in my mind:

-Bias by omission

-Bias by selection of sources

-Bias by story selection

-Bias by placement

-Bias by labeling

-Bias by spin

The press and these lackeys are GUILTY on all charges!

"Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for YOUR sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades," cried Squealer almost pleadingly"

- Orwell

They were used to this. They are narcissistic aristocrats inside the palace gates. We're kicking them out...to the curb. It's over and not a minute too soon.

Youll notice, the ones that are gnashing the teeth the hardest are the ones who are no longer relevant, with dwindling influence, and are unaware they're are holding onto a dead position. This is the reason they're more Fuhrer-ious than ever before.

Expect the cacophony of tantrums to dial up to 11.

There are three things a narcissist hates:

- being questioned

- being ignored

- being mocked.

Screw them, as Yuri and Gato always say:

Mocked them until they cry...and then mock them for crying.

Thank you for this research. I’ve recently been developing/exploring the same points and doing my own subscriber research.

Here are four links that might interest the author of this newsletter and his readers. (I will also add this Substack to my list of Top “Contrarian” or “Freedom writer” Substackers.)

BTW, Reich now has 583,000 total subscribers (allegedly).

Sounds like a great way to make some easy money. Maybe I'll create a substack calling myself The Blue Rainbow or some other such name with a blog titled "The Rainbow Blade". I'll just use ChatGPT to create radical anti-Trump articles, the more radical the better. The free part of the article will end just as the TDS is reaching fever pitch, followed by the paid subscriber solicitation. It's a lot easier than trying to create blogs with real insight and intellectual content.

01/22/25: Nice one, Ryan! "Here are the types of media bias in my mind: Bias by omission; Bias by selection of sources... Bias by spin." Let's add one more: "F*ck you, Trump. D.E.I. Smith, White House correspondent."

"What i notice is the lack of dialogue (and quality) between people..."

- You can pump Substack for money, short-term, with a literally-dying demographic.

- You can farm Substack for insights and engagement that set the parameters for future dialogue, influence elites, and cultivate $$ as the influence spreads and new opportunities come.

OF COURSE Substack follows the same general pattern that each side exhibits in their wider lives. Keep Calm, Crack On, and Never Get Tired of Winning.

Love it, Yuri.

"This is how Ryan Rouths are radicalized." Indeed.

I am nowhere near even 'small time' on Substack, but I would never require 'paid' to comment to avoid dissent.

Thank you for allowing comments, buddy.

I did not realize the Boomers had shifted blue this last election. The Boomers I know don’t like Kamala. Then again, they are still fixated on their circa-1980 “a WOMAN in the White House” obsession.

This was a great spreadsheet and analysis. Thank you so much for providing this.

If you want to see the most demoralized sad boomers who insist on defending the regime that has repeatedly betrayed them – come to Seattle. It's crash course in polite self-deception and banality of evil out here. I highly recommend getting turned away from a (Seattle) venue for being "insufficiently vaccinated" by a "we believe no human is illegal" pin-wearing maître d' only to get chastised by a boomer bystander about the embodied energy in my clothing and climate change; the whole thing feels like an absurdist play.

I often think of that Zoshchenko line, "What theater production are we in?"

So yeah, boomers around here were all for Kamala, and their children all have vaccine injuries/autism and yet they insist on The Current Thing no matter what. They cannot connect the dots (of the most basic "what does this mean" inference – for any given topic) because it would cause a nervous breakdown I suspect. The whole society feels like it's heading for a cliff's edge because all the children of these (Blue Team) boomers are either communists, sterilized, autistic, or homosexuals – I know this sounds mean of me to point out, but I think (if you were to ask them) they would all agree "with pride" (before the fall).

It's time I move on LOL! I feel like some wacky monk who willingly sits in hell just for the stoic challenge or self-awareness of it all. The nature is nice out here; it's true what they say. I guess Chris Rufo lives down the road so to speak, and Bret Weinstein up north a bit, so I'm not alone HAHAHA!

Yes. A thousand times yes. They can't connect the dots because they can't even see the dots although they are swimming in them.

My friends are on the tail end of Boomerdom, as am I. They cannot answer my question “what happened to the Question Authority democrats?” These people are all for censorship (safety), vaccines with no questions, and Vote Blue No Matter Who. They love Kamala and her “joy,” they love the idea of a female president regardless of who she is or whether she can blather more than three answers to any questions (middle class family, opportunity economy, “joy.”). They didn’t see the incongruence between the hated millionaires and billionaires and the rich people stumping for the dems. And, of course, this Biden is the Best Biden Ever. I feel like I’m in The Twilight Zone.

Expand full comment

Well it's a waft of fresh air to hear you (a self-described denizen of Boomerdom) denounce the delusion. But this is also exactly what I have witnessed the past half-decade: a complete inversion of liberalism by Blue No Matter Who voters (an identification that is inherently thoughtless; painfully obviously so).

The way I visualize it is: they are like ants walking on a Möbius loop, and at one time they were rightside-up, but they mistook the surface of this metaphorical loop as the moral ground itself, and as it twisted upside-down, they didn't realize their value system got totally inverted (by diabolical agendas and such).

"We're on the right side of history!" say the Blue Team ants, as they are now upside-down however (topologically) on the same path they were 30-years ago.

Few remember this, but there was a short-lived 1980s TV sitcom—I think it was called *Hail to the Chief* (don’t hold me to it)—in which Patty Duke was the first woman President. My mom loved this show; she was very Grrrl Power.

Got to find the internal tabs but I think men shifted right while women shifted left. Since there are more women in that demographic, the whole shifted slightly left. I have mostly seen data by age, not by generation. And of course age cohorts changed every election as older ones die and are replaced by aging members of the next lower cohort.

I figure the first woman in the White House was Martha (Washington).

As a boomer who is not like that at all - when you shit on an entire group of people based on age, color, gender, nationality, state - anything like that - you, IMO, are just as bad as the Democrats' divide and poison tactic.

Since I am a boomer, I have just lost interest in your comment, and, sadly, this thread. Just as bad as BlueSky, just crapping in a different direction. I have despised the Dems for many years now, and have never ever felt the White House should be occupied by a woman just because she is a woman. Being a woman, and having worked with women, I know better than that.

Right now, the Trump hatin' industry is warming up in the bullpen because they are still demoralized and they are still shellshocked. They're really going to lose their shit when the BOM starts doing things they think are morally reprehensible (like deportations) to thunderous applause from Normies, and they finally understand that their power to shame, lecture, and hector Normies into compliance are gone for now. That's when they will really get unhinged.

There's a reason all the tech moguls immediately kissed the ring. They've essentially built empires reading and anticipating changes in the zeitgeist.

It can only go on for so long when expectations do not comport with reality before people realize they're working against their own interests.

Plus these people fear one thing more than anything:

Being the last to know something socially. Which is precisely why they ended up in their current cult, and why those who aren't insane will ditch it as fast as they got into it.

The Stage 3 TDS, where humor is lost and they can't make memes, unfortunately bleeds over into their entire world view. People like this that I know have lost their senses of humor entirely, not just when it comes to Trump, but universally. They can't laugh at anything or anyone, including themselves. When I saw the number of "likes" to the video announcing The Contrarian launch, I was surprised. Last I checked, it was up to nearly 40K. Maybe it's surpassed that by now.

And you wonder, looking at the engagement that the folks on that spreadsheet get, what's going on. Because it's not like they're contributing deep insight into the world around them. There's no intellectual match between what they have on offer and what the heterodox reasonable are contributing daily.

You worry that people with perspective, who think through issues, who appreciate complexity — and you count yourself among them — are outnumbered by orders of magnitude by these alarmingly large clusters of angry people, many of whom appear neurotic, exchanging their fantastical theories as they catastrophize in response to a world that dared to say, "not that, but this."

And yet here we are. I look at my LinkedIn feed, and there's a grandstander getting over 19,000 likes for his hero post condemning Musk. On a platform that you want to be free of politics, where you know the wrong take can eighty-six your career. So you stay quiet because you see the permission structures are holding firm.

I go to Facebook, and see a friend announcing he's leaving Twitter for Bluesky, to much applause, because Musk. And now, fresh off that chorus of approval, he's announced he's leaving Threads. Because "Suckerberg."

And for what? For the same basic ecosystem of rewards on offer by Blue Substack: be angry, catastrophize, name-call, project, stereotype, belittle, receive praise, repeat.

Really interesting! I’m curious how many of these writers genuinely believe what they are saying, and how many are intentionally taking advantage of the strong market demand for anti-trump content.

Yesterday I had the same thought, when I was reading an aggressively anti-Trump post that was meant to “cover” Trumps speeches at the inauguration, just to see what the main popular criticisms were going to be. It was insane. The first sentence said something to the effect of “I’m not going to bother covering all the garbage he said” and “spare yourself the pain of listening yourself” and then went into a tirade against Trump without once mentioning a single thing Trump even said at Inauguration. It just seemed like a psychological catharsis, with no informational or critical value. Suffice to say, I had to keep digging.

It just boils down to "I've been told to hate Trump. Ergo everything he says must be bad, therefore I won't bother listening to him."
