I’m a bit biased as I’m an avid gardener. But to my mind Clarkson’s Farm might be the finest program I’ve ever watched. I laughed. I cried. I learned. I became outraged.

My thoughts EXACTLY!! My husband has planted more fruit trees than I can count and enjoys toiling in the soil. We absolutely LOVED the entire Clarkson Farm series .

Great piece, Yuri. The best truth: "All humans want to thrive while protecting the environment. This should not be political issue. Everyone wants clean water, abundant healthy food, and access to nature."

I grew up in the 70's and 80's when folks dropped their automobile ash trays in the streets. We all decided to clean our areas up and it happened; without government subsidy. Common sense.

Apparently that’s why the left hates RFKjr. Go figure.

I’m not sure that this has improved at all. Cars don’t have ashtrays anymore so people just toss them out one at a time. They’re still in the street, just not in a giant pile. If there were ashtrays a few might actually make it into the trash bin now and then.

I went to a 3 day event at Joel Salatin’s farm a few years ago to learn about his farming methods. He said that much of his produce goes to high end DC restaurants to feed the political class that creates the laws and enables the bureaucrats that hassle him and throttle his creativity. I suspect the same thing is happening in Britain, the king and his fellow scum source their food from the very farmers they want to put out of business. Of course they want only the best for themselves and fake meat and gmo for us.

My wife and I started watching Clarkson's Farm recently and are thoroughly enjoying it. You're right about the landscapes--it's beauty in every direction, except I wish Kaleb hadn't gotten that perm. It just don't fit.

Young men like Kaleb making ludicrous aesthetic choices in their 20s, even if they are in all other ways level-headed and competent. is an absolutely authentic take.

I have Norman Irish, which I didn’t even know was a thing until the advent of genetic testing. And German, some sort of Westphalian mix with possibly a touch of Rhineland Jew. But it’s the Anglo-Saxon that won out.

As were the Normans. The further back you go, the more Germanic I get. But culturally that all got lost here in America.

I really hate how they’ve ruined nature documentaries.

I used to love getting a straightforward look at interesting geography and wildlife. Now, it’s all just a backdrop to their shaming and lecturing.

Excellent review. Thank-you!

One of my favourite bits was when Clarkson decided to harvest his blackberries that were scrambling along an old stone wall. He rented this picker contraption and immediately got it stuck, then spent hours remediating. He tried to make jam but didn't follow the sanitation and labelling regs. On and on it goes. Three steps ahead, two steps back.

The entire series makes you want to scream into the void because it is absolutely true. The point is clearly driven home that regulations, in most cases, are abused and turned into weapons of control and means of exclusion. Definitely worth the watch.

Sometimes it's better to laugh than cry. That's what memes are all about.

Thanks for publicizing this show Yuri; I love it too. My guess would be the regular farmers don't f*&% things up as badly or as routinely as Clarkson does (some of it's gotta be on purpose for comic effect) so they make more money before being raped by the gov't.

It reminded me of when I graduated from Cal and became a carpenter's apprentice cuz I hated desk work. I was almost as useless as Clarkson, but I quickly learned to shut up and pay attention to the barely HS educated professors who could build a house in a day.

If you look hard enough, the show is spectacular for its illustration of the material roots (!) of western civilization: democracy, religion, work ethic, innovation, stoicism, etc. It's like a VDH book but way funnier.

Thanks for the recommendation, Yuri! My family and I struggle to find anything to watch and we're currently on, like, our third trip through Frazier. My husband and I both grew up rural, and both our families kept a few cows, chickens, goats, etc. I was even allowed a backyard horse! My daughter (23) had none of these luxuries because we've lived in a city since before she was born. I miss those days, and am really looking forward to watching this.

Great post Yuri. I've been watching this show since it started. Being a gear head, I've been a fan of Clarkson for a long time. Clarkson's Farm speaks to those of us, particularly us GenX'ers, who just want to be left alone and don't need the government to be our surrogate parents. The amount of ridiculousness that the government imposes on the farmers is outrageous and I agree with the pro-human localism. This is why I choose to go to my local farmer's market and stands whenever possible rather than the big grocery stores. I guess it all makes sense when we keep in mind that *WE* are the carbon they want to reduce.

Add in the TRAs to the abortion on demand and MAID for being poor, to the already crazy list destroying cheap/effective energy, food production, travel (them EVs won't go very far or very long), etc. The list is too long all in the name of "progress". They arecertainly a modern death cult.

Saving it, as well as all other farms in the "West", is the easiest thing in the world.

Just chase the farmer-hating Commies out of the Establishment, start telling the city kids the harsh truth: that the food does NOT actually origniate in the supermarket, as their idiot "liberal/leftist" parents believe in their gated communities, and farmers will thrive, and food will be both affordable and abundant.

I'd simply start with voting for those who do NOT have a proven record of destruction of their countries. Although I have no way of knowing if, say, Farage in the UK or AfD in Germany are "controlled opposition" or "shapeshfters" who will continue the same destrution line once they get the power, but at least the vote will not be persistently masochistically suicidal.

Clarkson will no doubt enjoy the company of his new neighbor -Ellen DeGeneres, having left California with her TDS for the Cotswalds amidst the raging autocracy of Trumpland. Good luck with that!
