Might be useful in any discussion of medicine to consider the beginnings of what became the profession--turning wise-woman healers into witches to destroy the competition and the alternatives to brutal invasive treatments.
Modern medicine is excellent at repairing physical damage. Reconstructive/reparative surgery for congenital deformities/defects and restoring normal function as much as possible after accidents is superb. Some forms of cancer treatment are superb. Management of endocrinological disorders is often superb.
Much of the rest? Do the exact opposite of common sense and rack up the billables.
It's quite educational, being even a minor victim of bad medical theory. I had a tonsillectomy at eight because of chronic infections. Had hay fever as a kid and was sent for weekly allergy shots. Fortunately the hay fever became much less severe in early adulthood. Unfortunately, it turned into life-threatening asthma instead. Years later, research began to show a link between adult-onset asthma and the earlier removal of tonsils. Thanks, guys!
And I've always wondered--if I'd been given supplemental vitamin C as that always-sick kid, would I have ever "needed" that tonsillectomy? In the '50s we all were given certain vitamin supplements routinely so the concept of supplementation was well-understood. But they missed the crucial one, likely for many other kids like me too.
Never, ever, ever--in any field--put all your faith in "experts." Ask me about my experience with lawyers.
People trust their doctors. We need to put the doctors "On The Spot". Ask any doctor the "Pro or Ho" question.
Is your doctor a medical professional or a paid whore for the pharma cartel? A simple question for your doctor to determine if they are a "Pro or Ho":
"Should healthy children under the age of 12 get the shots?".
If the answer isn't "NO" then you have a "Ho". There is no "yes" or "it depends". The IFR for healthy kids is so far to the right of the decimal that they have a statistically ZERO chance of dying from covid. It is of zero benefit for them to get the shots. It also is of zero benefit to anyone else because they will still get it and transmit it, injected or not.
My friend is a plastic surgeon and he worked at a well-known hospital in Boston. A few years back, he left grew jaded with his current role and began interviewing for private clinic work.
He said by and large the companies who were most interested in hiring (and also paying the most) were trans-surgery providers.
He has since moved to Taiwan and opened a private practice there.
Yes, organic chemistry is tough but like general chemistry it is important. The understanding of the interactions and processes of chemicals (everything is a chemical) leads to better conceptualization how various drugs, herbs, etc interact.
We are looking at moving to a different state next year. How does one actually find a doctor who's over 40 and in a private practice? I've always had to go to group practices, which I've hated, but it was who was covered by my insurance. I'm beginning to think that paying out of pocket might be worth every penny to not have to deal with these indoctrinated pill-pushers.
I am a cat and not a headshrinker, but I thought lithium was prescribed for mania and phenothiazides such as thorazine were prescribed for schizophrenia?
