Excellent, thanks. I'm going to Mexico, renouncing my US citizenship, and re-entering the country illegally to get free everything and register to vote Democrat.

The GOP has a great opportunity to turn the tables and befriend the new, future voters, yet they do not. Most of these new so-called immigrants have conservative values, as do most people of color. SO, WTF! bring them to the RIGHT side instead of vilify. just sayin'

Agreed. That's why I draw the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. The former are more likely to vote GOP because they have conservative values and earn income, but the latter already broke the law, become dependent on Democrat welfare, and get urged by AOC et al to agitate for handouts instead of working.

Exactly! My distinct impression is that the legal immigration process is horrifically difficult BY DESIGN.

With one important exception (tech workers) the people who want to flood the country with immigrants - whether for votes or for cheap labor - don’t really WANT middle-class professionals.

As for the GOP role, here we have yet another illustration of McCord’s WWE Theorem of Politics: The parties are like two pro wrestlers. The GOP establishment is the scary one in the black tights and mask. His mission is to espouse conservatism in such a clumsy, unappealing fashion that the Democrat grassroots (who fervently believe wrasslin’ is real) flock to the polls to help the white-clad Democrat ‘good guy’ wrestler ‘beat’ him.

Afterward, if you take a peek into the locker room, you might catch a glimpse of the two, high-fiving each other about what a great show they put on.

This worked well for decades. But years ago, the GOP grassroots realized wrasslin’ AIN’T real. They recruited an orange outsider to take on the other two.

He enjoyed brief, limited success. But federal spooks, prosecutors and public health and election officials suddenly stormed through the crowd and burst into the ring, battering him with a fake Russian ’dossier,’ mail-in ballots and a not-so-novel virus as if they were folding chairs.

It’s what always happens in wrestling when the ‘wrong’ side gets the upper hand: New characters charge in, because it’s a Show, and the Show must go on!

The US immigration system is based on family reunion - not on needed workers.

The easiest and fastest way to immigrate is based on marriage with a US citizen. A K-1 (finacé) visa is usually issued after about 9 months o filing. A K-1 allows the holder to go to the US, marry (within 3 months), and wait here while his/her Adjustment of Status is completed.

Other immigrants who are allowed in rather quickly: parents and minor children/stepchildren of US citizens. These all count as Immediate Relatives and for this group there is no limit to the number of visas that will be issued.

Furthermore: Family Member of a US citizen: siblings and their spouses & minor kids, adult children with their spouses/minor kids. But for these categories quotas exist and the waiting times are long.

Because the system also has per-country quota, for some countries the waiting times can be very long. For some people the process is started when they are 25 years old and by the time the visa happens they are middle-aged.

In all cases the sponsoring US citizen needs a certain level of income and has to declare he/she will be financially responsible for the newcomer.

In all the above categories the immigrant does not need to be educated, have skills, work-experience, qualifications, knowledge of the English language, etc.

I will leave the Diversity Visa Lottery (50,000 visas yearly) out of this story as well as immigration by family members of Green Card holders, and the EB-5 investment visa (yes you can buy a Green Card but it does not come cheap).

Legal immigrants do not have rights to Fed. provisions for the first 5 years.

The story for workers is different. They usually come on non-immigrant visas like H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1. The original idea was that they would leave after a number of years (3 - 7). But these temporary workers became quickly permanent immigrants for a variety of reasons- but mainly because employers need them. About 750,000 non-immigrant workers are now in the US, sponsored by an employer. However, only 150,000 visas are made available every year for this group to become Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card holders). And that number includes the wives and the minor children of these workers. So in reality, only 70,000 needed workers are allowed in every year. Hence a ginormous back-log exists, making in general for long waiting periods. (For some the process goes faster.) The per-country quota works here also against natives from certain countries. Because Luxemburg is a country, and so is India. So workers from India wait 12-20 years for the Green Card.

So yes, the system if horrifically difficult by design - for foreign workers ! And please realize that the US did not have to pay a dime towards their education.

I disagreee. I lived for many years in places where many illegal immigrants built a life. They had families and worked (hard) to earn a living. Many owned a small business. They were conservative in their ideas (not liking high taxes) and would have added to the Republican numbers if allowed to vote.

I just read that (legal) immigrants from India tend to vote Democrat.

Illegal immigrants I knew never got hand-outs, although their kids were able to go to school and eat lunch. They paid Fed. and State taxes through an ITIN#, they also paid Sec.Sec. taxes - although they will never get anything in return under current rules. They paid property taxes (direct or indirect) and local sales taxes.

I've been wondering what woke progressives would do when the white population eventually decreased to a point so low that it cannot plausibly remain the principal villain. And maybe the answer is now clear: attach the "white" label to some other population.

Great question. I think the best humor hits on truths. In clown world, the truth is dark and scary. Twisting it into a laugh is the mental jiu-jitsu we have to grapple with every day to stay sane.

Uk citizen here. From what I’ve heard. Sending the illegals to states like California or New York doesn’t actually help as all this does is raise the amount if people in the state which goes towards the electoral college votes. True? False?

Yes. CA and NY are fully controlled by Democrats and are sanctuary states. They both are losing population because sane citizens are fleeing, so they are replacing them with illegals. At the rate things are going they will be third world favelas soon.
