Wouldnt it be funny if just for mockery purposes Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and say four others of their persuasion decided to coordinate on a news event narrative. They would all use the same language to describe some Democrat news. It would make a mockery of the Trusted News Initiative. Thered be a head writer on the project like Gutfeld or Carolla. It would get setup ahead and get triggered when some news event happened. A day later they could all show clips of each other to magnify impact.

I'm trying hard to share your optimism, that Trump is perhaps reaching a deciding audience through podcasts, but the negative thought side of my brain has doubts. The same reason that I'm voting for Trump (the shared hate from Republican and Democrat elites alike), is also the reason I fear the lengths to which the elites will got to stop him. The failed assassination attempt should have been a wake up call to true constitutional believers everywhere. Instead, it was brushed aside, much like the "pandemic" travesty. Your article does give me hope though, Thanks.

Having watched several MSM channels in realtime when the assassination attempt happened, clicking back and forth, it was absolutely gross how they reported it. MSNBC saying there were slingshots to CNN saying pooping sounds to all of them saying “shards of glass…” It made for the level of disgust and mistrust that saves me from ever watching them again. 90% of young people never watch MSM. They can’t leave the phones (I’m not making fun).

Sometimes I wonder if, the only thing giving any credence at all to MSM is the near constant rants about their biased coverage. I say, just quit acknowledging them at all. They are headed to complete irrelevancy anyway. Let's help that process along by denying their existence or referring to them, only in passing, as extremist outlets.

I have watched presidential debates for almost 50 years now (starting with the Ford/Carter debates in 76). The nearly open secret about them, in my not so humble opinion, is that the perceived winner (as who the viewing audience thinks won, not the pundit-class) is always the person who seems the most unrehearsed and natural. This is Trump's superpower in this kind of forum- he always seems unrehearsed and natural and I think it is because he actually is unrehearsed- he isn't trying memorize factoids and clever phrasing. Podcasts, by their very nature, and the nature of the people who conduct them, are unscripted and off-the-cuff and it is hard to hide the emotional deficits of a candidate during such an event.

Harris' interview was completely scripted in both questions and answers and that is why it came across as dull and pointless. I don't doubt for a second that she and her staff are doubling down on this approach for tonight.

Expand full comment

Agree. I still cannot bring myself to watch. I do not believe that Trump can control himself because he is an ENTERTAINER by trade. Harris is just a puppet but she’s not stupid. Neither of them are. I think Harris could get up and take a shit on the table and still win with the TDS crowd. And the fawning press would celebrate it too. So I’ll call it a day a little early and be grateful for what we have today.

I’m stuck on the part where one of the top 10 national podcasts is a young woman who titled her platform “Call Me Daddy”. And it gets a $100 million contract from satellite radio.

I hate to quibble, but I think it would be more appropriate to say "We live amongst a vast group of unserious clowns, in a serious world."

Yes, I mean the people, not the real global situation. Bread and circuses, partying while Rome burns… all of that.

Great ending, Yuri! This morning in our town newspaper Rants and Raves, a section where people can anonymously, in 40 words or less, give their opinion, came this gem…

Voting for Harris would be like asking for a refill in Jonestown.

The Regime really fears VP MegaMaid getting into a personal confontation with the Bad Orange Man because he has a demonstrated ability to absolutely drive women batshit insane in any situation. He made Clinton look even worse, and she was far more intelligent than Vac-U-Suck. Trump could literally drive her into a hysterical crying fit live in front of the world tonight.

I am showing my age, I suppose, but I pride myself by having only watched two podcast in my life (those were of Tucker Carlson interviewing Putin and the first one where he interviewed Kid Rock). I cannot stand podcasts. It there is not a printed transcript, it is not a story I follow.

By the way, my wife and I have invented a drinking game for tonight's event. Every time Kamela stifles a cackle, we drink. Everytime Trump begins to say "Kamela" and stops himself, we drink. Mrs. C thinks we will need another bottle of Prosecco.

I’m in my 50’s, and only recently got into podcasts during the past 2-3 years. I like them, but find that many are too long (looking at you Joe Rogan). There is simply too much content out there, and I have limited time, so anything over 2 hours is too long for me. An ideal length would be about 90 mins- 2 hours for me…

I started listening to Rogan about 5 years ago, before Spotify. It's true, they are long, but his guests are so varied and his conversation style tends to bring forth not only information, but the reasoning behind it. I retired 3 years ago and quickly tired of both cable entertainment and MSM "news". Instead of watching some inane sitcom or movie in the evening, I now listen to podcasts and read substack articles. Very seldom do I listen to Rogan in one sitting, but that's the nice thing about podcasts, you can listen at your convenience!

Sometimes, though, they remind me of getting cornered at a family event by two drunk uncles intent on telling me what’s REALLY going on in the family…

Are you the nephew I can't ever remember? 🤭

For sure, they’re definitely good conversations. But you said you’re retired, and I am not, so I’m assuming you have a bit more free time. I also like to listen and read other content, and there’s simply not enough time…

I listen at 1.25 or 1.5 speed, depending on the podcast, speakers, or guests. Saves a lot of time and makes them sound smarter.

Trump being cagey, may just let Kamala speak, unfettered. Using the MMA analogy, it might be like the scene from I-Spy where Ed Murphy, as a distraction for Owen Wilson, toys with his opponent.

Also, one of my favorite podcasts is the Ruthless podcast. They’re republican operatives, help run campaigns but they’re also funny and play games making fun of liberals and journalists, even though that’s the same thing. They interview a lot of politicians running for re-election on statewide races. Reminds me a lot of Jeff Childers’ writing, half serious and half sarcastic/funny, so if you’re in the market, check them out.

I found them on Megyn Kelly, another one of my favorites. I literally laugh out loud.

I actually found Megyn Kelly through Ruthless! I had no idea she had started a podcast. I found Ruthless on like their 4th episode, I was looking around on Spotify and liked the name so I gave it a listen. They and MK are both really good.

The problem is, around 10 PM after the polls close, suddenly millions of dead voters will have their ballots brought in by the truckload. This is the evil truth, not mentioned by anyone, the so-called conspiracy theory, that allowed a brain, dead old man to win the last election. It doesn’t matter how well Trump does in the debate, or on podcasts, if the people counting the votes are corrupt.

Expand full comment

It doesn't matter what Kamala does or doesn't do, she is going to win. No matter what the vote count is. The powers that be will see to it. This probably has been orchestrated all along. Biden's descent into senility (real or faked) and then dropping out of the campaign just before the DNC has paved the way for the first US president who is a person with a vagina (can't say female anymore).

Well, I was hoping that two days would be enough time for you to post a debate reaction, perhaps as addendum to this entry.

I was appalled that he was back-footed so easily. He finished strongly, but I’m guessing more than a few of us had enough of the three-on-one scripted, choreographed, and highly practiced dance number before it was finally over.

He missed no chance to snatch at every baited hook, and it made him look paltry and unpresidential, which, let’s face it, is not exactly far from the mark.

That’s the thing I hate most about presidential “elections.” Every candidate, every time, is an insult to the idea of representative government.

I’d be desperate for Chump to lose if it didn’t mean Harris would win.
