How To Celebrate My Super Sweet Sixteen
Toasting the 16,000 subscriber milestone with gratitude, reflections, and a first-ever Zoom party tonight
Comrades: Thank you for helping the Yuri comrade community reach 16,000 strong!
I am grateful for all of your support. This humble samizdat started at 0 readers 2.5 years ago. The first thousand subscribers took 6 months; the last thousand took 2 weeks. Now we are growing by ~50 comrades daily and ~4x annually. The Substack network effect is real. Every time this readership surpasses regime shills’ like former CNN commentators, Congressmen, and even a US Ambassador to Russia, the real Yuri smiles from above. Let’s continue subverting the subversion together. We are the media now - hat tip to Substack and TFP:
To celebrate, I am throwing a Super Sweet 16 tonight (details after the jump). For all the new readers who joined recently, check out the glossary and Top 10. I encourage everyone to write on Substack as independent dissidents and will do anything in my power to elevate your voices. If there’s one big lesson I’ve learned from writing here, it’s that words and memes are powerful. They spark laughter, learning, and movements. That is why the powerful and their useful idiots want to censor us. Samizdats create bottom-up groundswells that top-down tyrants can not stamp out. The most rewarding part of this endeavor is hearing from readers about how it made them chuckle, rethink their perspectives, hug their children extra hard, live not by lies, or take a stand. This is how the vibe shifts - one post at a time.

How To Celebrate 8,000 Subscribers
Comrades: Thank you for helping this samizdat reach 8,000 subscribers! I started How To Subvert Subversion almost two years ago with no previous experience in media, marketing, or publishing. Before adopting the Yuri pseudonym, I never wrote anything publicly or used social media under my real name. Gratitude to Substack, the real Yuri, and readers like …
***An important reminder on this samizdat’s privacy policy: As an Anon, I take privacy seriously. I will protect the privacy and anonymity of my readers, myself, and any private citizens I write about. I will never fabricate, exaggerate, or dox. However, public figures are fair game for spicy skewering. Unlike the leftists who block, ban, and smear, I am open to well reasoned critiques on opinions and factual errors. Reach out anytime in the comments section, Substack DM, or e-mail yuribezmenov22 [at] protonmail.
How To Stay Anonymous
Comrades: Anons have always shaped and subverted the discourse. Benjamin Franklin was the OG Anon. We all know him as a Renaissance Man Founding Father. He signed the Constitution, served as the first postmaster general, founded the University of Pennsylvania, invented bifocals, and adorns the $100 bill.

How To Answer an Ask Me Anything - PODCAST (30 min)
Comrades: Thank you for your thoughtful questions from the AMA on 12/12. I promised I would answer the spiciest ones through a podcast. The list of questions is below, audio for paid subscribers only. If you had to guess the state of our culture in 5 years, what would you say? For example, will speech be more or less policed than it is today? Will the culture war have gotten hotter or cooled off?
