Big Lie #1: You can’t change your mind.
Changing your mind is healthy. We are constantly evolving as humans, taking in new information, and adjusting our world view. It is natural and good to change. You will be respected more for adapting, instead of digging in on fixed positions. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, or holding the same beliefs even when the data and reality show they aren’t working. Here are examples of topics I have changed my mind about. You are not crazy for changing your mind. You are not alone. Stay strong, stay joyful.
Big Lie #2: Anyone who disagrees with you is a bad person, conspiracy theorist, bigot, etc. You should not be friends with them and only stick with people you agree with.
Don’t shoot the messenger. Don’t get mad at people who exposed the lies. Get mad at the people who lied to you and continue to lie to you. We share common ground as Americans. Severing ties with family and friends over politics is a cowardly, childish move that tears the fabric of our communities and country. The people closest to you care about you the most, so you should keep an open mind when discussing sensitive topics with them. Those are the most important relationships in your life. Their perspectives are more valid than what a random politician or talking head influencer says. You will not agree on everything, but the ability to speak openly, debate, and disagree is vital. Variety is the spice of life and steel sharpens steel.
Big Lie #3: MSM and the government are the only trustworthy sources of information, everything else is misinformation.
To be an informed citizen, it is your duty to seek truth. Follow those who consistently deliver reality, distill noise into strong signal, and admit when they made mistakes. Don’t automatically trust brand names and pedigree. They often cause bias and distortions, as people distort narratives for their own interests to accrue power and money. Stop trusting people who have lied and continue to lie to you. The list below will cover just a few of the many lies the corporate media and government have told.

In response to 9/11, our government launched the War on Terror. The first phases were invading Afghanistan and passing the Patriot Act, both of which were expensive disasters that made us less safe and free. Then came the War in Iraq. None of the al-Qaeda hijackers or Osama bin Laden were from that country. The reason our government and media gave for the invasion was that Iraq had “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. That turned out to be a lie. The cost of the lie was ~4,500 American soldiers killed, ~33,000 wounded, 200,000+ Iraqi civilians dead, millions displaced, and a trillion dollars. The same people who pushed those lies with blood on their hands are now pushing for more bloodshed in Ukraine. Many of them are making fortunes for warmongering. You can find them in Congress, the US State Department, and lobbying or writing for rags like The Bulwark.
COVID came from a wet market and could be stopped with lockdowns, masks, and jabs.
COVID escaped from a lab in Wuhan that received funding from Fauci’s NIH. MSM, big tech, and government lied and colluded to cover up, censoring anyone who dissented. Lockdowns never stopped the spread. However, they did destroy economies, small businesses, and kids’ education through learning loss. Masks never stopped the spread. However, they did normalize the covering of faces, restricted breathing, and now billions of them will shed microplastics into our oceans for centuries. The jabs never stopped the spread. Every corporate media outlet and “expert” lied about it to push mandates that made billions in profit for Pfizer and Moderna. Over time, a tsunami of data is building that show the jabs caused far more harm than good - especially among young, healthy people for whom COVID had a 99.9%+ recovery rate. Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.
Hunter Biden’s laptop is real. He left it in a repair shop and forgot to pick it up. The files contained damning evidence of his foreign entanglements and drug-fueled prostitute habits. The same 51 intelligence officials who told you it was fake lied. They lie about everything else to preserve their power, colluding with MSM and Big Tech to suppress the story. This was election interference that changed the outcome of the 2020 election.
The border is secure.
Biden and Mayorkas have let around 8 million illegal immigrants into the country, though the real number is impossible to tally. No one knows where they came from or where they are now. Many are living off taxpayer funds in sanctuary cities, whose resources are strained while their own citizens struggle for affordable hosuing. Over 800 Americans have died at the hands of illegals and countless others died from drugs trafficked in through the border.

Since Biden took office, prices have increased at least 20%. Inflation compounds, so even if the rate of inflation lowers the prices will still rise more than before. The average rate on a 30 year fixed mortgage is up 148% and the monthly mortgage payment on a typical home has almost doubled. In healthcare and education, commissars are raising costs and lowering quality.

The job market is strong.
Most jobs under the Biden administration are low-paying part-time gigs for foreign-born workers. That is why real wage growth has not kept pace with inflation.
Crime is down.
Crime is not down. Reporting on crime is down. Black Lives Matter, Defund the Police, and the Summer 2020 “mostly peaceful protests” led to thousands of excess black deaths. They caused far more damage than January 6.
The 2020 Election was free and fair, all who question it are election deniers.
Democrats denied the 2016 elections and launched the Mueller Investigation based on the Russia hoax, which hampered the Trump presidency. Then they colluded to suppress reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop, which would have changed many voters. Mail-in ballots were dumped for days after Election Day, resulting in razor thin margins. I have noticed a demonstrable and significant silence amongst the demoralized in my social circle. I'm not sure they've been de-programmed, but they may have started the progress of re-moralization (if we can use that term) and are embarrassed to admit it. In any case, progress. Just as you don't interrupt an enemy when they're making mistakes, you don't interrupt friends when they've begun the process of reversing theirs.
I am amazed at the level of head-burying by my demoralized friends. It’s clear that absolutely nothing can happen in reality that will make them vote against the Democrat. Bringing up any political topic is like bringing up trauma for them.
